Three doctors to see Queen Marie

June 10, 1937

Archduchess Ileana of Austria has confirmed that three specialists have been summoned to examine her mother,  Dowager Queen Marie of Romania.  Queen Marie is at her summer residence at Sinaia, reports the Associated Press.

The Queen was taken ill in March, "when an attack of grip was followed by gastric hemorrhages.  Her doctors announced on May that she need a long period of rest to "recover from a deficiency in her blood."

Archduchess Ileana told reporters: "Mother's condition is not to be serious.  The royal family, however, was worried because the Queen Mother was recuperating too slowly, so we called in the best European specialists to re-examine her."

Two heart specialists and one tropical disease specialist from Austria and Italy are now en route to Bucharest to treat the 61-year-old queen.
